Bus at the Sea

Our bus will take you to Europe’s longest dike, the ‘Afsluitdijk’. You will be visiting the newly opened Wadden Centre where you will learn how the dike was built and what it means. The bus then takes you to the old seaport of Harlingen on the Waddensee, which is an UNESCO World Heritage site. A city map will guide you along the harbour and the lovely city centre. A professional tour guide will be present throughout. The official language is Dutch, English aor German.

Amsterdam by Bus

From Sneek it takes 90 minutes across the famous Afsluitdijk to reach the centre of Amsterdam, where you will have a good 5 hours to explore this bustling city. During the bus trip he tour guide will give you lots of information on the Dutch and their customs. Use a city map to experience the city on your own. We will be happy to make reservations for Rijksmuseum or Anne Frankhuis tickets or a canal tour for you separately. The official language of this tour will be English or German.

Tailwind of course

A short bike tour with road map to the picturesque city of Ijlst. Visit the sawmill “The Rat” and watch the planks being sawn the traditional way. Duration of the bike tour: approx. 2 hours (12 km.). Join the tour at the city centre of Sneek, where you will be given your bike. Maximum bike rental time is 4 hours.

You can book one of our professional guides for all excursions that do not include a guide, or for trips you plan to make yourself. Our guides speak Dutch, English, German, French, Italian and/or Frisian.

Back in Time

From Sneek the bus will take you via Bolsward to the Frisian museum village of Allingawier, where various old trades will be demonstrated, giving you an idea of what Friesland was like around 1900. The next stop is Workum, where you will visit a cheese farm. While you sip a cup of tea or coffee or a glass of lemonade, you will be made familiar with the process of cheese making. Afterwards there will be an hour in which to explore the town of Workum on your own.

Big Bus

Join our trip through the Frisian Zuidwesthoek, which will take you along the various cities that are part of the ‘Elfsteden’ (Eleven Cities) and the lakes with their ever varying surroundings. Visit the historical city of Hindeloopen, situated on the coast of the former Zuiderzee and go back in time. You will be supplied with a city map to explore this tiny town on your own and find the lovely restaurant where you can have traditional Dutch pancakes! You will be joined on this trip by a Dutch/English or German-speaking guide who will ensure that you get to see the treasures of Sùdwest-Fryslân.

Walk, Hear the Talk

Take a walk around Sneek with a city guide who speaks Dutch, English, French, Italian or German and hear about the history of this town. Visit the worldfamous ‘Waterpoort’ (Watergate) to which the guide holds the key. Have your group picture taken as a memento of the city of Sneek. Departure from the Frisian Maritime Museum in Sneek city centre. 

Duration of the walk is 1.5 hours.

Nautical Experience

The "Fries Scheepvaart Museum" (Frisian Shipping Museum) focuses on the history of Frisian shipping. But also the history of the town of Sneek and its surroundings are shown in the museum. It is not only about Skûtsjesilen, the Sneekweek and the Frisian Navy, but also about the Elfstedentocht or the Sneeker Waterpoort. And the museum has a beautiful collection of silver . There is a cozy museum cafe and for youth there is an exciting children's museum.

See the Sawmill

Bij de Waterpoort in Sneek stap je aan boord van het prachtige lounge-skûtsje “De Nieuwe Liefde”. Je vaart naar een van de Elfsteden, IJlst, enkele kilometers verderop. Daar breng je een bezoek aan de houtzaagmolen “De Rat” uit 1683, die nog steeds in productie is. Naast de molen ligt het splinternieuwe Houtmuseum, waaraan je ook een bezoek kunt brengen. 2,5 Uur na vertrek word je weer afgezet bij de Waterpoort.
